Hello class!! Welcome to our Upper-Intermediate 2014-2015 course. I hope you have enjoyed your summer holidays and come to class with a real will to learn. As I told you these days we're going to focus on phonectics and pronunciation (appart from the 4 skills, obviously) in order to improve our communication in English. This doesn't mean that the class is going to be boring but just the opposite, right? I know this is something a bit unknown for you and at the beginning it can be a bit difficult, but with some practice you'll get a better understanding and, of course, pronunciation.
On Monday we introduced the IPA and had a look to the vowel sounds in English; we watched a couple of videos focusing on pronunciation and then we spoke about the summer.
OnWednesday we finished the consonant sounds, we practised some listening activities and by the end of the class we played the "Knowing Me" game. We will play different games throughout the course in order to make speaking easier.
I hope you enjoy this course and get what you want but not by studying and non-stop grammar, but using English in real everyday context.
Once again, welcome to my "kingdom". It's a pleasure having you in my classroom.
